SAN JOSE – A 31-year-old San Jose man was arrested last week on suspicion of brandishing a firearm during a dispute with a woman earlier this year in the city, police said.
The incident happened around 8:40 a.m. on June 2 outside an undisclosed address in East San Jose, San Jose police spokesperson Stacie Shih said in a news release Tuesday.
“The adult male suspect and the adult female victim were in a verbal altercation when the suspect brandished a firearm, causing the victim to fear for her life,” she said.
Detectives opened an investigation, identified the suspect and discovered he was barred from owning guns, Shih said. Arrest and search warrants were issued for the man.
On Oct. 9, officers arrested the man in Santa Clara on suspicion of brandishing a firearm and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, Shih said, adding that a search of his residence turned up a pair of guns and ammunition of various calibers.
The man was booked into Santa Clara County jail but no longer appeared to be in custody as of Tuesday.
