Detectives were called in to assume responsibility over the case and “through swift and coordinated efforts,” the suspect was quickly identified and arrested at approximately 11:15 a.m., police said in a press release.
Marcos Gonzales of Vacaville, had a registered firearm in his possession when police arrested him. He was booked into the Solano County Jail on multiple felony charges related to incident including rape, robbery and use of a firearm during commission of the crime. He is being held without bail.
Investigators believe this was an isolated incident, police said, and there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the community. In addition, police said there is no evidence to suggest the suspect has any connection to the victim.
