BALTIMORE — Bears rookie Shemar Turner left the game against the Ravens on Sunday with a knee injury and quickly was ruled out for the game.
He went down midway through the second quarter while trying to chase down running back Derrick Henry. Turner was carted to the locker room and had a towel over his head as he exited.
The Bears drafted him in the second round at No. 62 overall out of Texas A&M, but he has had injury issues throughout his brief time with them. He missed extended time during the preseason with an ankle injury and has played five games as a reserve for the Bears. He had six tackles, including two for loss.
Montez Sweat and Dayo Odeyingbo are the Bears’ starting defensive ends, and Turner was playing as a backup end and tackle. They also have Daniel Hardy and Dominique Robinson, though Robinson also left with an injury. He hurt his ankle and is doubtful to return.
The Bears have until Tuesday to activate defensive end Austin Booker, who has been on injured reserve with a knee injury.
Between quarterback Caleb Williams’ unsteadiness and poor decisions and the defense’s lapses, the Bears wasted a prime opportunity. This is the type of defeat that signals you should not be taken seriously.

There was no excuse for Williams being more uncomfortable running the Bears’ offense than Tyler Huntley running that of the Ravens. Huntley was the Ravens’ third-stringer before being promoted when Lamar Jackson was ruled out Saturday with a hamstring injury.
