Defensive players sitting out were linemen Montez Sweat, Grady Jarrett, Gervon Dexter, Andrew Billings and Dayo Odeyingbo, linebackers Tremaine Edmunds and T.J. Edwards, safeties Jaquan Brisker and Kevin Byard and cornerback Kyler Gordon (hamstring).
He and Nahshon Wright are fighting for a starting job.
