Kicker Cairo Santos would have practiced Thursday had the team not been off, the Bears said in a projected injury report.
The Bears did not practice Thursday but will go Friday and Saturday to prepare for Monday night’s game against the Commanders.
Three starters would not have practiced: safety Jaquan Brisker, who has a quad injury; right tackle Darnell Wright, who has an elbow problem; and defensive tackle Grady Jarrett, who missed the Raiders game with a knee injury.
Cornerback Kyler Gordon (hamstring), tight end Colston Loveland (hip) and guard Jonah Jackson (rib) would have been limited.
Gordon said this week he plans to make his 2025 debut Monday night against the Commanders. Linebacker T.J. Edwards, who is also recovering from a hamstring injury, would have practiced in full.
Backup running back Kyle Monangai would have missed practice because of a thigh injury.
Santos hurt his quad while warming up in the third quarter of the Bears‘ win against the Raiders. He made all four field goals that day but did not handle kickoffs in the fourth quarter. The Bears have Jake Moody on the practice squad and would promote him were Santos unable to kick.
Wright has been spotted doing conditioning work this week while rehabbing an elbow injury. Loveland said his hip injury was feeling better after missing the Raiders game.
The Bears quarterback’s eyes lit up when asked Wednesday about the passers drafted alongside him last year.
