Wide receiver DJ Moore and running back D’Andre Swift returned to Bears practice Thursday after sitting out the day before with injuries to their hip and groin, respectively.
Four others remained out, though. Tight end Cole Kmet (back) and Tyrique Stevenson (groin) have not participated the last two days after getting hurt against the Saints. Backup tackle Braxton Jones and backup running back Roschon Johnson (back) sat out, too. Guard Joe Thuney was given a veteran rest day.
Two of the Bears defenders were added to the injury report after practicing in full Wednesday — linebacker Tremaine Edmunds (ankle) and cornerback Kyler Gordon (groin).
Kicker Cairo Santos, defensive tackle Grady Jarrett and cornerback Nahshon Wright, all starters, were upgraded from limited participants Wednesday to full go on Thursday.
Earlier Thursday, offensive coordinator Declan Doyle praised Moore’s toughness. He spent an extra night in the Washington, D.C., area last week after hurting his groin.
“DJ has done a great job of playing through things,” Doyle said. “He just keeps coming back. A lot of times you can have a receiver on your team or a player that may be higher paid that maybe has a different attitude towards things. He does not. He is one of us, and I love the way he competes. I love the way he battles through those things. It’s appreciated by all of us, his effort to be out there and fighting with his guys.”
The Bears play the Ravens on Sunday in Baltimore.
While Smith should’ve been a Bears cornerstone and has been an All-Pro selection three times for the Ravens, Edmunds is having a better season and chipping away at the gap between them.

The Ravens running back is averaging 73.2 rushing yards per game, which ranks ninth in the NFL but is still about 40 yards below last year’s mark.

The Bears have scored touchdowns on only 30.7% of their trips inside the opposing 20-yard line the last three weeks, the third-worst mark in the NFL during that span.
