The Bears practiced Wednesday without three of their most steady starters on offense.
Tight end Cole Kmet (back), receiver DJ Moore (hip) and running back D’Andre Swift (groin) all sat out the team’s session in advance of Sunday’s game against the Ravens. The Bears were also without starting cornerback Tyrique Stevenson (shoulder), who, like Kmet, left Sunday’s win against the Saints. Backup running back Roschon Johnson (back) also sat out.
Defensive tackle Grady Jarrett (knee) practiced in a limited capacity. He returned to practice Friday after missing three games.
“I feel like I’m making some good progress,” Jarrett said.
Kicker Cairo Santos (right quad) was limited after missing practice all last week. He credited Bears coaches for not rushing him back after he first felt pain in his adductor muscle while warming up during the Raiders game. Because the Bears had Jake Moody on the practice squad, the team could afford to be patient with Santos’ return.
“The best thing for me would be the best thing for the team,” Santos said. “If I missed one or two games and played the rest of the season, that would come out to be better for the team than me trying to push it the last couple weeks and possibly reinjuring it and ending up on IR.”
Cornerback Nahshon Wright (hip) and backup tackle Braxton Jones (knee) were also limited.
Swift was limited in practice last week because of a groin injury but played against the Saints. Moore had an injury designation because of both his hip and groin last week.
