Bears’ Olamide Zaccheaus out with illness; WR DJ Moore, T Darnell Wright active

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — The illness that ravaged the Bears locker room this week claimed receiver Olamide Zaccheaus, who was added to the injury report Sunday afternoon and made inactive hours before kickoff against the 49ers.

Tackle Darnell Wright and receiver DJ Moore both started the game after being put on the injury report on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Wright did not travel with the team to the Bay Area on Saturday but flew out the next day to play.

Earlier in the week, the Bears put cornerbacks Nick McCloud and Josh Blackwell, receiver Devin Duvernay and linebacker D’Marco Jackson on the injury report with an illness. McCloud was ruled out Friday. Blackwell, Duvernay and Jackson played Sunday.

The Bears flew on the team charter Saturday with masks in an attempt to slow the bug.

Coach Ben Johnson said Friday that the Bears were “washing our hands … being very diligent — guys have masks on, doing what you can.” He said that “whoever’s available here on game day, we will look to win with.”

Williams threw for a season-high 330 yards against the 49ers, and despite the loss, the Bears appear to be progressing as they near the postseason
He was called for illegal hands to the face.
A team with shockingly little playoff experience was neither overwhelmed nor overmatched Sunday night in the closest they’ll come to a dress rehearsal for the postseason.
