The Sun-Times’ experts offer their picks for the Bears’ game Sunday at the Ravens (noon, CBS-2):
Patrick Finley
Ravens, 34-23: This is a bad spot for the Bears — provided that Lamar Jackson plays. The 1-5 Ravens are coming off a bye and can’t afford to lose without sinking further into obscurity. Even if Jackson is hampered, they’ll be desperate. The Bears won’t be. This year: 4-2
Jason Lieser
Ravens, 36-27: At 1-5, the Ravens still have better odds of winning the Super Bowl than the Patriots or Seahawks, both who are 5-2. Nobody is ready to write them off, and this sure looks like the time for them to get back on track. This year: 3-3
Mark Potash
Ravens, 24-23: Brimming with confidence, the Bears will be tough to beat whether Jackson plays or not. But John Harbaugh’s Ravens are usually good after the bye, and their defense is better than it’s been. This year: 5-1
Scoop Jackson
Bears, 20-10: In the two games the Ravens have lost since Jackson went down, they’ve been outscored 61-13. This game — if Jackson remains out — could be the biggest break the Bears catch all season. Though problems with Caleb Williams’ play will get louder. This year: 3-3
Steve Greenberg
Bears, 23-20: Will he or won’t he? That goes for Jackson, whose availability to play in this game is uncertain. It also goes for Williams, whose ability to play like a star — and not just once in a while — is very much uncertain. The defense can’t be counted on to create four more turnovers and take Williams off the hook. What say you, No. 18? This year: 5-1
