The Sun-Times’ experts offer their picks for the Bears’ game Sunday at Arizona (3:05 p.m., CBS 2):
Rick Morrissey
Bears, 24-21: A devastating loss to Washington has revived questions about Bears coach Matt Eberflus’ fitness for the job. He should devote most of his pregame hours to begging Caleb Williams for a big performance against the Cardinals, the kind that can help erase bad memories. Season: 6-1.
Rick Telander
Bears, 24-23: That last play against the Commanders lingers darkly. If the Bears can’t shake it off in the desert, the season could go off the rails. Season: 5-2.
Scoop Jackson
Bears, 21-20: What will the Eberflus/Tyrique Stevenson hangover look like against a team that won their last game in damn near the same fashion the Bears lost theirs? Let’s just say Bears history won’t repeat itself this week. Season: 5-2.
Patrick Finley
Cardinals, 24-23: The Cardinals’ offense is red hot. In the last four weeks, it ranks fourth in points and ninth in yards per play. The Bears, though, have the best red-zone defense in the NFL, with opponents scoring touchdowns just 36.8% of the time. Season: 6-1.
Jason Lieser
Bears, 24-19: The Cardinals’ defense gives up a lot of yards, a lot of points and isn’t especially good against the run or pass. The Bears should be able to score enough to survive this one. Season: 5-2.
Mark Potash
Bears, 24-20: The Bears haven’t earned the benefit of the doubt, but they should respond to the adversity of last week’s Hail Mary loss, and Caleb Williams figures to be better this week than he was against the Commanders. Season: 5-2.
