Adding depth before the start of training camp, the Bears agreed to sign former UFL receiver Kaden Davis. Davis just finished his season with the Houston Gamblers, where he had four catches for 32 yards. He returned 10 kickoffs for 275 yards.
The Bears also added linebacker Tony Fields II, another UFL alum. He was an all-pro with the Columbus Aviators.
The 6-foot-1, 193-pound Davis has appeared in three NFL games, all as a member of the Browns from 2024-25. He’s also been a member of the Cardinals on two separate occasions and the Broncos briefly in 2024. He was on the Lions’ roster from May to August 2024, when Bears head coach Ben Johnson and wide receivers coach Antwaan Randle El worked there.
Randle El speculated earlier this offseason that the Bears would add a receiver or two simply to have enough to get through camp.
The Bears broke for camp Thursday after completing their mandatory minicamp and will return for the start of training camp July 28.
To make room, the Bears cut kicker Gabriel Plascencia and rookie Dominique Hampton.
