Bears receiver Luther Burden limped off the field with an athletic trainer about 45 minutes into Saturday morning’s practice at Halas Hall.
Burden and cornerback Tyrique Stevenson landed awkwardly during the last one-on-one rep in the end zone.
Stevenson spent a minute stretching out his hip and groin area but stayed in practice. Burden took a knee before walking around for a minute and eventually leaving the field.
Burden, a second-round pick last year, has been a popular breakout candidate both inside and outside Halas Hall this year. Coach Ben Johnson famously said he’d buy stock in the receiver’s career.
The Bears practiced without left tackle Braxton Jones and defensive end Montez Sweat. The two were hurt Thursday but a source said they likely avoided any long-term damage .
The Bears practice again Sunday and are set to scrimmage Tuesday. They’ll hold a walk-through at Stevenson High School on Monday.
