Beyoncé concert at Soldier Field delayed due to weather concerns

UPDATES:

10:15 p.m.: The concert is underway at Soldier Field.

9:25 p.m.: Per a statement from Soldier Field officials, concertgoers were allowed access to their seats shortly after 9:15 p.m. following a two-hour delay due to the strong storms that inundated the downtown area and lakefront. Access to the floor-level seating, however, was was not permitted until nearly 9:45 p.m.

As torrential rain fell, fans were asked to move to the covered concourse areas and “shelter in place” via announcements over the public address system in the stadium.


Beyoncé’s concert Thursday night at Soldier Field was delayed for hours due to weather concerns.

Soldier Field issued the official word shortly after 5 p.m. via statement that the Cowboy Carter tour show will be delayed at least until 9 p.m.

“Due to potential for severe weather in the area, the COWBOY CARTER show will not begin before 9 p.m. tonight. We’re monitoring the weather and will continue to share updates.

Gates are open for those that have arrived.”

In 2023, Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour stop at Soldier Field was similarly delayed for an hour due to rain.

Thursday’s show is the first of three planned for the venue, with concerts Saturday and Sunday nights as well.
