Body found near Cherry Creek High School, police investigating as homicide

Police officers are investigating a potential homicide after a body was found near a Greenwood Village high school early Saturday morning.

Officers responded to reports of a dead body near East Union Avenue and South Yosemite Street — adjacent to Cherry Creek High School — at 5:07 a.m. Saturday, according to a news release from the Greenwood Village Police Department.

While near a high school, the incident does not appear to be school-related, police stated in the release.

The initial investigation suggests this was a homicide, according to Saturday’s release.
