SAN JOSE – San Jose City College was evacuated Wednesday night after a bomb threat was reported at the campus, authorities said.

The incident happened just after 5 p.m. at the college, located in the 2100 block of Moorpark Ave., a spokesperson for the San Jose Police Department said in an email.
The campus was evacuated and classes were canceled for the day, according to the spokesperson.
As of 7:15 p.m., officers were clearing the campus. The public was asked to avoid the area.
