A 17-year-old boy is accused of shooting and seriously injuring a pregnant 16-year-old girl he is acquainted with during an argument earlier this month in Little Village.
The teen, who is not being identified, was cited in a juvenile petition with felony aggravated battery and misdemeanor unlawful use of a weapon, Chicago police said in a statement.
He is scheduled to appear in Juvenile Court on Tuesday.
He was arrested Monday in the 2000 block of South California Avenue after he was identified as person who shot a 16-year-old pregnant girl who he knows during a quarrel on Sept. 7 in the 2200 block of South Sawyer Avenue.
She suffered at least one gunshot wound to the back and was taken in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said at the time.
