Britain’s heaviest man’ has died only a week before his 34th birthday.

Jason Holton, who weighed 50 stones, died last Saturday from organ failure.

Six firefighters brought him to Royal Surrey County Hospital after the ambulance ride, mother Leisa said.

‘He’s probably had about eight lives and I thought the doctors would be able to save him again, but sadly it wasn’t possible,’ she told The Sun.

‘He was put on kidney dialysis and an IV drip but his kidneys weren’t working.

‘The doctor told Jason he’d pass away within a week as his organs were failing. Jason soon started to go downhill.’

Jason long said he began to tip the scales following the traumatic death of his father when he was just three years old, while playground bullies made his life a misery.

He took on the title of the heaviest man in the UK following the death of Carl Thompson, who weighed 65 stone, in 2015.

Jason lived in a bungalow in a Hants village that council officials helped fit out to make it easy for him to get by – complete with reinforced furniture.

Jason, bed-bound and immobile, had to be removed by crane from the flat in 2020 after collapsing.

Of the experience, he told TalkTV: ‘That was the most devastating time of my life. The terrifying part of it all was the amount of people outside.’

‘It was very upsetting for me because now I thought I’m Britain’s fattest man, that’s what people are going to think of me,’ he added.

Lesia said last year she hoped her son would be prescribed the weight loss jab Wegovy.

‘I believe time’s over for me in general,’ Jason added.

‘I’m coming up 34 now. I know I’ve got to try something.’
