The Broncos are down a notable piece of their tight end room for at least the next month.
Denver has officially placed TE Lucas Krull on injured reserve. Krull suffered a Jones fracture in his foot Thursday, a source told The Denver Post, didn’t practice Friday and didn’t make the team’s upcoming trip to Philadelphia and London.
The plan for Krull is a short-term stint on injured reserve, sources said, which means the earliest the tight end could return would be Week 9 against the Texans in early November.
Krull caught just two passes for 15 yards through his first three games of the season, and was designated inactive for Denver’s Monday night win over the Bengals. He’s still played a key role in Sean Payton’s offense when dressed, with a 29% offensive snap share through three weeks in 2025. Krull led last year’s Broncos tight ends with 19 catches.
In his place, Denver signed ILB Garett Wallow from the practice squad to the 53-man roster, a source said. Wallow was out of practice squad elevations after being pulled up the last three weeks and will now land on the Broncos’ active roster for the foreseeable future as a special-teams contributor.
The move means the Broncos now carry an open spot on their practice squad.
