The iconic red swimsuits, slow-motion runs and high-stakes beach rescues are blissfully returning to broadcast TV, as Fox has released the first official trailer for its steamy reboot of Baywatch. The 12-episode series is set to hit the beach in January.

The three-minute trailer opens with an appropriately over-the-top rescue scene led by Stephen Amell’s Hobie Buchannon, after a plane strikes two girls parasailing. “To be a Baywatch lifeguard, you have to be the best of the best,” Hobie tells his Venice Beach crew. “Because it’s our responsibility to protect the people of this city, no matter the cost. Get to work.”

Now a Baywatch captain following in the footsteps of his father, Mitch Buchannon, Hobie’s life changes when he meets Charlie (Jessica Belkin), the daughter he never knew he had who naturally joins the team to become a lifeguard alongside her dad. “I’m not looking for money or a father. I just want a job,” Charlie tells Hobie, who admits he has been “dreaming of a relationship” with his daughter but worries about her safety, adding “it’s too dangerous.”

The reboot’s ensemble cast prominently features 2025 Maxim cover models Brooks Nader and Livvy Dunne as lifeguards. The cast also includes 2015 Maxim cover model Shay Mitchell, Hassie Harrison, Noah Beck, David Chokachi, and Thaddeus LaGrone, alongside recurring appearances by Ashley Moore, Luke Eisner, Nadia Gray, Kylar Miranda, and Charlie McElveen. Rapper Megan Thee Stallion also makes a bikini-clad cameo appearance in the trailer.

Production for the Fox series began in Los Angeles in the spring of 2026 following an open casting call. Matt Nix serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside director McG (Charlie’s Angels), Dante Di Loreto, Mike Horowitz, and original series creators Michael Berk, Greg Bonann, and Doug Schwartz.

The original Baywatch debuted on NBC in 1989 before entering syndication, eventually becoming one of the world’s most-watched TV shows. It famously helped launch the careers of Pamela Anderson, Carmen Electra, and Yasmine Bleeth, and spawned a spinoff series, Baywatch Nights, as well as a 2017 feature film reboot starring Dwayne Johnson, Alexandra Daddario, and Zac Efron.
