Campbell Library Friends plan more fundraisers for new building

With the opening of the new Campbell Library pushed out until next winter, the Friends of the Campbell Library have more time to fundraise.

While the major funding from Measure O and several grants will cover the rebuilding costs, additional funds are needed for enhancements,  including items for the planned state-of-the-art community room, study spaces and children’s and teens’ areas. To achieve this, the Friends of the Campbell Library has an ongoing Love Our Library campaign, with a goal of raising $250,000.

To that end, the next Friends book sale is set for Saturday, March 1, 2026, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., on the patio next to the Campbell Express Library, located in room E46 of the Campbell Community Center, 1 W. Campbell Ave. Besides books for all ages, a variety of puzzles, games, CDs and DVDs ill be for sale. Donations of items for this and future book sales can be dropped off at the Campbell Express Library during regular hours.

Special fundraisers include the Vintage Jewelry Sale in the lobby of the Orchard City Banquet Hall at 1 W. Campbell Ave. on Wednesday, March 5, 5-8 p.m. Donations for this sale can be dropped off at the Campbell Express Library through Feb. 28, 2026.

Love Our Library canvas tote bags are available to order online in a variety of sizes and colors, and See’s Candies online fundraisers are being hosted throughout the year. The Love Our Library campaign can also accept donations via GoFundMe and PayPal Giving Fund, as well as employer matching funds via Benevity.
