A man was arrested after firing shots while inside a CTA bus parked outside Midway Airport Monday evening.
Around 5:40 p.m., the 33-year-old man was on bus No. 8026 at 4612 W. 59th St. when he opened fire, damaging the bus and leaving bullet holes, Chicago police said.
“Offender is shooting from the 47th Street bus,” an Office of Emergency Management dispatcher told an officer over police radio. Several officers rushed to the scene and arrested the man.
“We have a crime scene on the bus,” an officer told the dispatcher. Charges were pending against the suspect, whom police described him as an “active shooter.”
A gun was recovered at the scene. No injuries were reported.
