Charity boss devastated after her paralysed dog is banned from family hol she won on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway

A CHARITY boss was left devastated after her paralysed dog Pumpkin was banned from a family holiday she won on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

Tammy Fox, 43, who runs Pumpkin and Friends to raise awareness of disabled animals, was nominated to appear in the show’s live audience with 410 other volunteers in February.

Every guest was gifted a dream getaway for four.

But Tammy has had to cancel as TUI say her paraplegic West Highland Terrier, two, cannot travel because she is not an assistance dog.

Tammy and kitchen fitter partner Richard Blogg, 45, have offered to closely mind Pumpkin — who uses a special buggy with wheels and has no bladder control — but without success.

Mum-of-two Tammy, from Lincoln, said: “I’m angry.

“This is effectively discrimination against my disabled dog.

“We wouldn’t have the holiday if it wasn’t for Pumpkin so it’s only right that she comes.”

Tammy added: “We’re all devastated after being given a prize only for our dreams to be snatched away from us.

“We had such a good time on the show but it’s all been spoilt.”

TUI said: “We appreciate she is disappointed.

“Sadly, UK airline policies prohibit non- assistance dogs travelling in an aeroplane cabin.

“We’re tied to terms and conditions and policies around the prize, but we’re in touch with her team about other ways we might be able to support the charity as a gesture of goodwill.”

ITV did not comment.
