Thousands of Polish Americans celebrated their heritage at Saturday’s Polish Constitution Day Parade near Grant Park.
Organized by the Alliance of Polish Clubs across the U.S. and local organizations, the parade, which stepped off at 11:30 a.m. at Balbo and Columbus Drive, commemorates the ratification of the Polish Constitution in 1791. The parade is reportedly the largest of its kind outside of Poland. Nearly two million Polish Americans call Chicago and the surrounding area home.
Dignitaries at the event included grand marshal Bishop Andrew Wypych and parade queen Gabriela Ner.
