Chilling moment fleeing sex attacker dumps gag he used to assault teen after pouncing on her as she walked home

THIS is the chilling moment a sex attacker dumped a gag he used to assault a teen as CCTV captured him fleeing the scene of the ordeal.

Emil Emilov, 25, pounced on the 19-year-old as she walked home from work in Leicester.

CCTV showed the fiend fleeing the scene – stopping only momentarily to bin a piece of cloth he used to gag the victim in a bin.

Emilov has now been jailed for seven years and three months after admitting one count of assault by penetration.

Leicester Crown Court heard how the Bulgarian national had ambushed the girl on May 28 last year at around 5am.

Emilov dragged her into a bush then gagged and sexually assaulted her.

Police were able to track the predator’s movements as he ran through the city using CCTV.

He was captured returning home but police later discovered he had left the UK.

Emilov was eventually arrested on his return to Luton Airport, where officers matched his DNA to the gag and the victim’s tights.

As well as a jail sentence, he was also placed on the Sex Offender’s Register for life.

Detective Inspector Simon Preston, from Leicestershire Police’s rape investigation unit Signal, said: “Emilov’s actions were undoubtedly predatory.

“I hope the public can take some reassurance from the fact he’s now serving time in prison because I believe had he not been caught, then he might have gone on to offend again.

“This was a complex, in-depth investigation that meant piecing together his movements after the incident occurred.

“Credit must go to the team for their efforts in building a case that meant he had no option but to admit what he’d done.”
