The trend — which has gone global — happens during the “Chicken Jockey” scene of the PG-rated film starring Jack Black and Jason Momoa.
It involves the heroes being in a ring fight with a baby zombie riding a chicken — a rare enemy in the original computer game.
As it starts, some young viewers chant “Chicken Jockey” in sync with the film’s main character Steve, played by Black.
But others have gone further — lobbing their drinks or buckets of popcorn at the screen.
In one TikTok clip, teenagers appear to throw buckets of water over the audience as the scene plays.
The craze started in the US, where police had to storm one cinema after a group of youths “body-slammed” an employee trying to calm them.
Some theatres have now banned unaccompanied children.
It has spread here, with Reel Cinema in Fareham, Hants, putting up a warning.
It says: “Disruptive behaviour, including taking part in TikToktrends will not be tolerated . . . where necessary, the police will be called.”
The film has been widely panned by critics, but made £230million globally at the weekend.
