Coachella 2026: Wet Leg brings the heat to the mainstage

Under a blazing late afternoon sun, Wet Leg took over the main Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival stage on Sunday, powering through one of the hottest sets of the weekend while still drawing a steady crowd.

By the time the band hit their 4:45 p.m. slot on the final day of Weekend 2, the desert heat felt relentless. But even as temperatures climbed, fans continued to filter in, many sticking it out shoulder-to-shoulder across the field as the British duo delivered a tight, no-frills set packed with their signature deadpan charm.

Frontwoman Rhian Teasdale leaned into the moment with her usual offbeat ease, at one point sipping a Modelo between songs, unfazed by the conditions. Mid-set, the band briefly paused after noticing a fan in distress, stopping to say, “Let’s just get this person out of the crowd, it’s hot, are you alright?” before continuing.

“You guys, we know how hot it is, thank you for even being here,” she added, acknowledging the crowd’s endurance as the set pushed forward.

Wet Leg moved briskly through a setlist that balanced early favorites with newer material, including the breakout hit “Wet Dream,” the biting “Ur Mum,” and “Chaise Longue,” which still landed as one of the most widely recognized moments of the afternoon. Tracks like “CPR” and “Angelica” carried a more lively energy, hinting at the band’s continued evolution beyond their DIY beginnings.

The performance marked another step in Wet Leg’s steady rise from indie breakout to major festival mainstay. After quickly gaining attention with their self-titled debut and the viral success of “Mangetout,” which appeared on the popular show “Heated Rivalry,” the band has continued to expand its audience, a shift made clear by their placement on one of Coachella’s biggest stages.

Even in punishing heat, Wet Leg’s ability to hold a packed crowd spoke volumes.
