Crews battle fast-moving Santa Clarita brush fire

A fast-moving brush fire broke out Wednesday amid scorching temperatures in Santa Clarita, burning about 30 acres and prompting an evacuation warning.

Firefighters responded to the 21000 block of Centre Pointe Parkway about 1:40 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

An LACoFD spokeswoman told City News Service that an evacuation warning was issued for surrounding areas, but details about those locations were not immediately available.

Temperatures exceeded 100 degrees Wednesday in Santa Clarita, with a high of 105 expected in the afternoon.
