Friday evening’s ceremony also featured remarks from Andrew Anagnost, CEO of Autodesk and a 1985 CSUN graduate with a degree in mechanical engineering. Returning to his alma mater, Anagnost spoke to graduates as they prepared to enter the next chapter of their careers and lives.
Among the graduates celebrating the milestone was Marcy Varga, who reflected on the significance of representing women in engineering while carrying forward values of leadership and service. “I’m so proud to be one of the many amazing women graduating in Electrical and Computer Engineering today,” Varga said. “I’m honored to represent IEEE HKN and celebrate our oath of character, scholarship and integrity.”
The ceremonies mark the beginning of a milestone weekend at CSUN, celebrating thousands of students whose paths span engineering, science, education, business, the arts and beyond as they move from the classroom into careers and communities across California and around the world.
