Disneyland parkhopper tickets top $300 for the first time

Disneyland parkhopper tickets that have more than doubled in cost over the past decade climbed above $300 for the first time following the latest price hike at the Anaheim theme park.

A top tier one-day parkhopper ticket good for both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure now costs $314 after the Disney parks raised ticket prices on Wednesday, Oct. 8.

A decade ago, a parkhopper ticket to Disneyland and DCA cost $155 in 2015 before the parks moved to a tiered-pricing system.

With the latest hikes, the most expensive one-day parkhopper ticket in Disneyland’s seven-tier pricing system rose 11.7% from $281 to $314 while the cheapest one-day parkhopper climbed 3% from $169 to $174.

Daily visitors who pay extra for parkhopping tickets can visit both Disneyland and DCA after making a reservation for the park where they plan to start their day.

Parkhopping begins each day at 11 a.m. Daily visitors who show up after parkhopping starts can enter either park first.

Starting in 2016, Disneyland switched to a demand-based pricing system with tickets divided into tiers. The number of tiers has increased from three in 2016 to five in 2020, six in 2021 and seven in 2022.

Parkhopper add-ons have steadily climbed through the years from $25 (2011) to $40 (2015) to $50 (2016) to $55 (2020) to $60 (2022). The latest price hike raised the parkhopper upgrade cost from $65-$75 to $70-$90 depending on the ticket tier.

The new parkhopper upgrade adds $70 to the cost of Tiers 0, 1 and 2 tickets, $80 to Tiers 3 and 4 tickets and $90 to Tiers 5 and 6 tickets.

The Disneyland resort provides a wide variety of ticket, dining and hotel options along with promotional offers throughout the year to help visitors save money, according to Disneyland officials.

“Disney parks offer a full day of experiences each day with ticket, hotel and dining options designed to suit a wide range of needs and budgets for all who visit,” Disneyland officials said in a statement. “Our commitment to creating magical experiences for everyone remains at the heart of what we do – and that will never change.”

Disneyland softened the blow of the latest price increase with a new discount promotion for California residents offering a 3-day parkhopper ticket for as low as $249 — or $83 a day. The discount tickets go on sale Dec. 3 and are good Jan. 1 through May 21.
