The Easter long weekend is here – and you may be wondering if you can send or receive deliveries.

This is especially important for those who are unable to see family and friends but who still want to send gifts, cards and chocolate.

If you’ve not yet managed to organise sending your presents you’ll be wondering whether you still can.

This year Good Friday is today while Easter Monday is 1 April.

Royal Mail deliver letters come rain or shine – but will there be post on Good Friday and over the Easter weekend?

And will other couriers like Evri and DHL still be delivering over the bank holiday?

Does post get delivered on Good Friday and Easter Sunday?

Post will be delivered on Good Friday and Saturday – but not Sunday or Monday.

So, if you’re sending an Easter card this year, you’ll need to make sure it arrives by Saturday.

Royal Mail workers deliver letters and parcels six days a week, Monday to Saturday, throughout the year.

The only exception to this is on bank holidays, where there are no deliveries or collections and the post offices will be closed.

This means there will be a normal delivery service until Easter Sunday, April 17, with the closure continuing on Easter Monday, April 18.

Depots and collection units will also be closed on these days in case you wanted to go and pick up a missed delivery or collect a parcel.

Normal service will resume across all deliveries and collections on Tuesday, April 19.

If you’re expecting a parcel, whether or not it will arrive over Easter may depend on which company is delivering it.

Evri has confirmed to metro.co.uk that parcel deliveries will continue on Good Friday and Easter Saturday, but not on Easter Sunday or Monday.

Many ParcelShops will still be open for consumers to pick up or drop off parcels over the Easter weekend. Evri advises checking opening times of ParcelShops before making a journey. Lockers are available 24/7.

In terms of getting in touch with Evri, they said: “Customers can get in touch 24/7 via telephone or chat. Many issues, such as missing address information, can be dealt with automatically.

“For more complex issues, consumers can log an enquiry by chat or leaving a message and an advisor will respond as quickly as possible.

“Evri’s UK-based customer service teams will not be working on Good Friday 29 March and Easter Monday 1 April.”
