SAN JOSE – A man was killed in a crash Tuesday morning in San Jose, according to authorities.
The solo-vehicle collision happened around 1:50 a.m. at Parkmoor Avenue and the Highway 280 off-ramp, San Jose police Officer Tanya Hernandez said in a news release.
An initial investigation revealed the man was driving a gray 2015 Nissan SUV northbound on Highway 280 when he took the Parkmoor Avenue exit. The Nissan then continued across all three lanes of Parkmoor and hit a parked vehicle and a tree.
Hernandez said the driver was taken to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries.
The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office will release the man’s identity after it is confirmed and his next of kin is notified.
The death marked the city’s 13th traffic fatality of 2025. Police had investigated 23 roadway deaths at this time last year.
