FBI seeks Compton man on suspicion of throwing rocks at federal vehicles during Paramount protest
A Compton man accused of being the person caught on video throwing large rocks at federal vehicles driving through Paramount during Saturday’s immigration-raid protests is at large Tuesday.
The suspect was identified as 40-year-old Elpidio Reyna of Compton, FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller told City News Service.
“He is considered a fugitive, and the FBI is currently seeking his whereabouts,” she said.
The news was first reported by U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi.
“That guy has just been identified, and they are doing a search warrant on his house as we speak,” Bondi told Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity. ” … He is going to be on the Most Wanted List. … He has been identified by great police work by the FBI, so you can run, but you can’t hide.”
Federal authorities served a search warrant at Reyna’s home on Monday.
The suspect, who was wearing a yellow helmet, was seen hurling objects at vehicles as a large crowd of demonstrators engaged in a day-long protest Saturday near the 6400 block of Alondra Boulevard. The demonstrators gathered after federal immigration agents were spotted at a staging area nearby, and came amid immigration enforcement raids throughout the Southland beginning Friday that have inflamed passions.
According to the FBI, a $50,000 reward was available for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of that suspect. The agency released photos of the suspect at https://www.fbi.gov/wanted/additional/elpidio-reyna.
“On June 7, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the suspect threw rocks at law enforcement vehicles on Alondra Boulevard in Paramount, California, injuring a federal officer and damaging government vehicles,” the statement said.
