A Florida man and social media “looksmaxxer” influencer has been arrested for possession of child sexual abuse material.
On Wednesday, deputies from the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office arrested 18-year-old Mason Hull, who goes by “Hullo” online, according to a department press release.
Hull had more than 350,000 followers on TikTok, although his account has been turned to private since his arrest.
His content was primarily part of the “looksmaxxing” subculture, a community of mostly young men who set out to improve their physical appearances, sometimes through extreme measures.
Officials said they received a call on April 30 regarding Hull being in possession of child sexual abuse material. Detectives from the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit conducted interviews and reviewed the evidence.
Investigators discovered links to websites used to obtain child sexual abuse material, as well as conversations discussing payment for files, according to the press release.
Authorities seized his phone in order to obtain a search warrant, which was signed and executed on Wednesday.
The warrant for the phone turned up images of videos depicting female children aged eight to 15 years old.
Member of the Sarasota Tactical Unit found Hull in the parking lot of his residence and took him into custody.
Hull faces 15 counts of possession of child asexual abuse material.
The investigation is ongoing.
Sarasota officials said due to the suspect’s significant social media presence anyone who may have information regarding this investigation is encouraged to contact the SCSO Investigations Bureau at (941) 861-4900.
