Food distributor recalls ground beef from Colorado for E. coli contamination

An Idaho food distributor is recalling nearly 3,000 pounds of raw ground beef because of concerns about E. coli contamination.

Mountain West Food Group shipped the contaminated meat to distributors in Colorado, along with five other states, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service said in a news release.

There have been no confirmed reports of illness linked to consumption of these products, the federal agency said. Customers should not consume these products; they should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase, the department said.

The recalled product comes in 16-ounce vacuum-sealed packages with “FORWARD FARMS GRASS-FED GROUND BEEF” and “USE OR FREEZE BY 01/13/26 EST 2083” printed on the side of the packaging.
