A Fort Collins man who was sentenced to 60 days in jail for animal cruelty after his dog died of heat exhaustion in his car filed an appeal that was dismissed with prejudice on Thursday, according to court documents.
Michael Reynolds, 32, left his dog, Keef, in his car with the windows rolled up for more than four hours while playing golf in Littleton in July. Witnesses noticed the dog’s distress and attempted to locate Reynolds, called 911 and used a golf club to break the car’s rear window and rescue Keef. The dog was unresponsive and attempts to perform CPR were unsuccessful.
