Shocking footage has emerged of four men attempting to ‘kidnap’ a Jewish pedestrian into the boot of their car in London.

Police have launched an investigation into the alleged anti-Semitic crime, which was caught on camera in Stamford Hill – a neighbourhood with a large Haredi Jewish population.

In the video, the group of men parked and exited their car before allegedly demanding the man get into the boot of the car.

The Jewish man was seen backing away from the group as he spoke on the phone.

The man then threatened to call the police, after which the group of men got into their car and drove away.

Shomrim, a neighbourhood watch group in north London focused on primarily Jewish communities, shared the clip.

Shomrim and Metropolitan Police are appealing for any information about the vehicle and men involved in the altercation, using crime reference CAD 3224 28/04/24.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: ‘An investigation is underway after a reported kidnapping attempt of a male in Stamford Hill.

‘At around 17:24hrs on Friday, 26 April, the victim – a Jewish male – was walking on Moundfield Road, N16 when a car pulled up beside him and two males got out of the vehicle.

‘The victim was approached by one of the males and allegedly told the victim to get into the boot of the car, shortly before driving off. The incident was reported to the police and an investigation was launched by officers based in Hackney.’
