Fourth deceased victim identified in Pleasanton electric vehicle crash

PLEASANTON — A woman killed in an electric vehicle crash April 24 that also claimed the lives of her husband and two children was identified by the coroner’s office Friday.

Rincy George, 41, was with her husband, Tarun George, 41, and their sons, Rowan George, 13, and Aaron George, 9 in the crash. They were Pleasanton residents.

They were all killed about 9 p.m. April 24 on Foothill Road near Stoneridge Drive. Tarun George and the two children were identified by authorities earlier this week.

Authorities have said Tarun George was driving an electric car produced by Vietnam-based automotive company VinFast when it left the roadway and crashed into a tree before catching fire.

The police investigation into the crash is continuing, but speed may have been a factor, authorities said.

Both boys attended Pleasanton public schools, the oldest at Thomas Hart Middle School and the youngest at Donlon Elementary School. A vigil for the family April 28 was attended by hundreds.

A private funeral service for the family is planned, officials said.
