Yes, it’s June already! How did that happen? Well, since summer is upon us, I’m sure you want to get out of the house and do something fun. And here are our ideas for free fun things to do this month.

June 4 — Riverside: Enjoy an evening stroll at the Riverside ArtsWalk every first Thursday of the month, including free admission to the Riverside Art Museum (Julia Morgan Building) and The Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art & Culture as well as many other downtown arts destinations. June 6, 13, 20, 27 — Apple Valley: Check out the free Saturday Morning Beginner Golf Clinics at the Ashwood Golf Course and Grill. They include a one-hour group golf lesson, and a bucket of balls. June 10 — Costa Mesa: Got a baby? Like art? Want to get out of the house? If so, come to the UC Irvine Langson Orange County Museum of Art for the 11 a.m. Bring Your Own Baby Tour & Tea. This is a half-hour stroller tour for parents of infants ages one year and under to connect with each other and explore exhibitions. Afterward, enjoy a free cup of tea from the onsite cafe. June 13 — Pasadena: Calling all plant lovers. Take advantage of the chance to attend theThird Sundays Free Native Plant Classes by Artemisia Nursery. The class is from 9 to 11 a.m. It was created to teach people how to grow native plants from seed, cuttings, and more. Registered attendees can bring home seeds, cuttings, soil and pots. June 14 — Hollywood: Take in the 56th Annual LA Pride Parade, starting at 11 a.m. on Hollywood Boulevard between Highland Avenue and Cahuenga Boulevard. This event is always unique. Prepare for heavy traffic or arrive early. June 19, 23, 26, 30 — Redlands: This city really knows how to celebrate summer with their Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival — “Music Under the Stars” and, amazingly enough, it’s all free. June 19: Yacht Rock Symphony; June 23: Finals of the Redlands Bowl Concerto Competition; June 26: Ticket To The Moon: The ELO Experience; June 30: Ashes & Arrows country. June 21 — Santa Ana: Head to the Bowers Museum for its free outdoor “World Cup Watch Party and Cultural Celebration” on Father’s Day. June 21 — Multiple locations: Enjoy “International Make Music Day” at several cities in Southern California, where ordinary people and trained musicians alike do their best to keep music alive. June 25-28 — Los Angeles: Soccer fan? How about futbol? You might want to check out the Los Angeles World Cup 26 Fan Zone set up at the historic downtown Los Angeles Union Station. This event at the city’s main train station is free and for the whole family (but parking is paid). Visitors will be able to watch World Cup matches, enjoy music and special fan experiences. You need to order a free ticket online to participate.(And note that fan zones are also being held at the Original Farmers’ Market in L.A. and in Downey) Union Station, 800 N. June 26 — Santa Clarita: Bring your chairs and blankets and hunker down to enjoy “Mean Girls” outdoors at Bridgeport Park. Bring a picnic or visit a food truck on site.
