Most of northern Illinois has been placed under a frost advisory Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
Chicago and the collar counties are expected to stay above freezing, but the area may see multiple chilly and frosty mornings this week, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures around Chicago could dip to 38 degrees overnight Wednesday, 36 degrees Thursday night and 37 degrees Friday night.
Experts advise residents to protect their outdoor plants during a frost risk by covering them or bringing them indoors.
The National Weather Service forecasts that daytime temperatures will hover around the mid-50s on Thursday and Friday, with highs in the low 60s this weekend.
