Fury as Labour’s David Lammy vows to give YOUR money to UN agency whose staff were involved in Hamas attack on Israel

LABOUR’S David Lammy wants to give taxpayers’ cash to a UN agency linked to the Hamas terror attack.

Britain suspended funding to the UN Relief and Works Agency after claims by Israel that 12 of its 13,000 staff took part on October 7.

The agency sacked nine, two are dead and one is missing.

Israel later claimed hundreds of UNRWA staff are Hamas members.

But the Shadow Foreign Secretary said he will restart sending the relief agency money if Labour are elected.

He tweeted: “Labour is committed to restoring future funding for UNRWA.”

His vow sparked a backlash. Tory MP Theresa Villiers said: “UNRWA have been far too close to Hamas.

“We should not trust them with more taxpayers’ money.”

Peer Ian Austin said: “The UK should not restore funding unless there is wholesale reform, if not replacement.”

An independent report has said Israel has not provided evidence for its claims that Hamas has infiltrated the agency.

A Labour spokesman said last night: “As Palestinian civilians face imminent famine, the UK should join the EU, Canada, Australia, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Germany, France and Japan in restoring future funding to UNRWA.”
