‘Gentle’ schoolboy, 15, hit and killed by car outside McDonald’s is pictured – as man, 35, arrested for ‘drug driving’

A “GENTLE” schoolboy who was hit and killed by a car outside McDonald’s has been pictured – as a man has been arrested for “drug driving”.

Christopher Dobson, 15, was struck at around 10.45pm on Bradford Road in Eccleshill, Bradford, on Friday.

He was rushed to hospital with “very serious injuries” but tragically died at 12am on Sunday.

The driver of the black VW Golf was a 35-year-old man who has been arrested on suspicion of offences including death by dangerous driving and a suspected drug driving offence.

Today, his family paid tribute to the “gentle giant” who they said was “loved by all who knew him”.

They thanked their local community for the “overwhelming support” as they try and come to terms with the loss of their “beloved” Christopher.

In a statement they said: “Christopher was a gentle giant, loved by all who knew him, he was the best son, grandson, brother and nephew you could ask for.

“Though Christopher’s life was cut short, the love, kindness, and joy he shared with all who knew him will never be forgotten.

“We would like to thank our friends, family, the local community and emergency services who have shown overwhelming support at this difficult time, we would like to request privacy as we try to come to terms with the loss of our beloved Christopher.”

Cops are urging anyone who may have seen the car or teen before the collision to get in contact.

Detective Inspector Paul Conroy of the Major Collision and Enquiry Team, said: “A number of enquiries remain ongoing into this very serious incident which has resulted in a 15-year-old male tragically losing his life.

“We are working to support his parents and are appealing for any witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw the black VW Golf or teenager just prior to the collision taking place. 

“We would also like to speak with anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage which may assist enquiries.
