A ‘famous’ ice cream man has been stabbed to death in north west London.
The seller, who has not been named by police, was reportedly stabbed eight times at around 6.10pm yesterday in Monks Park, Wembley.
The man, 38, died at the scene.
Police arrested a 26-year-old man on suspicion of murder early Wednesday, and a 31-year-old woman was arrested for conspiracy to murder at the scene.
Local resident Asim Mahmood Butt, 39, said the married man and father-of-one was a ‘famous ice cream guy’ in the neighbourhood.
His van, known for featuring a large teddy bear, had been parked at the side of the road at the time of the stabbing, Asim said.
He claimed that the victim, who started selling cold treats last year, was stabbed ‘eight times’.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Waller said: ‘Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family and friends at this hugely difficult time.
‘Detectives are still working at pace to understand the circumstances around this sad event.’
