Jay Briscoe, Ring of Honor Pro Wrestling Star, Dead at 38

Jay Briscoe, pro wrestling star with Ring of Honor, has died. He was only 38 years old.

AEW founder Tony Khanwho bought the Ring of Honor promotion last March, shared the sad news on social media… writing: “Sadly Jamin Pugh has passed away. Known to fans as Jay Briscoe, he was a star on ROH for over 20 years. from the first show to today.”

“Jay and his brother Mark dominated ROH and still reign as champions to this day. We will do everything to support his family. Rest in peace Jamin.”

Jay – real name is Jamin “Jay” Pugh — joined ROH in 2002 and along with his brother Mark formed one of the greatest tag teams in pro wrestling history.

Jay and Mark were tag team partners who ranked under the moniker “The Briscoe Brothers,” but Jay also found success as a lone fighter – becoming a two-time Ring of Honor World Champion.

Pro wrestling insider Dave Meltzer reported that the wrestling vet was involved in a car accident in Delaware.

Correction to Jay Briscoe’s accident location, it was Laurel, Delaware, not Maryland.
