Jessica Simpson appeared with a transformed look on the set of Hulu’s new legal drama “All’s Fair.”
The singer and fashion designer made her first acting appearance in 15 years in the latest Ryan Murphy series, taking on the role of Lee-Anne, a woman who turns to Kim Kardashian’s Allura Grant for legal counsel after botched plastic surgery.
Simpson revealed a behind-the-scenes look at her prosthetic transformation in an Instagram video, where she’s seen with exaggerated cheeks, plump lips and a distorted nose piece, joking, “I mean, this face.”
“Introducing this ultimate badass with a heart of gold,” she captioned the clip. “It took an incredible village (and six hours in prosthetics!) to bring her to life for @hulu’s #AllsFair and wow… what a ride.”
In the third episode, Simpson’s character, Lee-Ann, admits she decided to get the surgery after discovering her husband was having an affair.
“We’ve been married almost three years. I knew he had had one affair — probably more,” her character says. “So when he had told me to get plastic surgery, I couldn’t say no.”
The “Irresistible” singer shared that after years away from the screen, she was pleasantly surprised by her own acting performance.
“I didn’t even know that I could do it,” Simpson told ETonline during the show’s premiere. “I haven’t acted in so long and normally I play the ditzy blonde, but this time I come in very vulnerable. It’s very emotional.”
“I didn’t know I could cry on cue, and somehow I did it,” she continued. “So, I impressed myself. And then I go, bat s–t crazy. You’re gonna see a brand new side of me.”
“All’s Fair” follows a team of female divorce attorneys as they “leave a male-dominated firm to open their own powerhouse practice,” according to the show’s official synopsis.
Along with Kardashian, the series also stars Glenn Close, Sarah Paulson, Niecy Nash and Teyana Taylor.
