John Mulaney to headline first-ever comedy show at Wrigley Field

Chicago native John Mulaney will make history as the first comedian to headline a show at Wrigley Field.

Mulaney announced the July 11, 2026 show during a Chicago Cubs game Tuesday, where he sang the seventh-inning stretch.

“I’ll be the first comedian to ever play Wrigley Field,” Mulaney said during the game against the New York Mets. “It’s really cool.”

Mulaney’s performance at the iconic ballpark is just one stop on his Mister Whatever tour, which kicked off in 2025 and has sold out venues across the country.

The show is anticipated to attract tens of thousands of fans. In 2022, Mulaney sold out the United Center three times.

While Mulaney’s show marks the first time Wrigley Field has hosted a comedian, the ballpark is no stranger to welcoming major stars. The stadium has become a popular concert venue and has hosted live music performances for two decades.

Since launching with Jimmy Buffett over Labor Day weekend in 2005, Wrigley’s live music program has flourished, hosting more than 80 shows.

Memorable moments include Pearl Jam’s rain-delayed 2013 show, Tom Petty’s final Chicago performance in 2017, and Pink’s 2023 aerial spectacle. In 2013, Rolling Stone ranked the ballpark the number two stadium in America.

Pre-sale registration is available online.
