The Toronto Raptors were flat out dominated in Game 2 versus the Milwaukee Bucks. Forward Kawhi Leonard knows full well that their struggles make Game 3 all the more pivotal.
The Bucks led the Raptors from start to finish in their 125-103 victory to take a 2-0 series lead. According to Josh Lewenberg of TSN Sports, Leonard feels his team must respond to adversity if they hope to bounce back in Toronto.
“If we wanna do anything or be a championship team we’ve gotta play through the adversity. It’s our challenge now to come home for Game 3 and try to get a win.”
Leonard certainly knows a thing or two about battling through playoffs adversity during his time with the San Antonio Spurs. His track record certainly leaves plenty of hope for a potential resurgence, but things are much different now.
Leonard enjoyed a much more efficient performance in Game 2 after finishing once again with 31 points on 10-of-18 shooting. Unfortunately, his supporting cast failed to provide any further assistance.
The Raptors had shown some signs of life when they scored 39 points in the third quarter after taking the entire first half to put up the same amount. Regardless, it proved to be too little, too late for Toronto as the Bucks were able to maintain their 20-point lead.
Toronto has quite the challenge ahead of them. There is not much more Leonard can do from an individual standpoint to help turn things around. It will be interesting to see how the Raptors respond in Game 3 on Sunday.
