Lord of the Rings fans will experience the epic world of Hobbits, wizards and the Precious when the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus joins forces with Pacific Symphony for “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, In Concert.”
Tickets are now on sale for the July 16-18 performances at The Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles, which will include the epic film projected on a 60-foot screen. As the audience watches the movie, 238 musicians, including members of the Children’s Chorus, will perform the score to the 2001 film that follows the young hobbit named Frodo, who is tasked with saving the world by destroying a powerful ring.
The show, which is marking the 25th anniversary of the film, has traveled the world and comes to Southern California 15 years after its last performance in Anaheim.
“The Lord of the Rings has been translated into 40 languages and has attracted a global fan-base, but the fan community doesn’t often have the opportunity to come together in person and coalesce around a performance at this high level. There is something unique and powerful that happens – a synergy is created in bringing together the music – live on a large scale, with the film, in a magnificent house,” said score composer Howard Shore in a statement.
Tickets are $62.09-$201.93. For more information go to peacocktheater.com.
