Police said Monday they were not treating a Liverpool car ramming which left 27 people hospitalised as terrorism, after a vehicle ploughed into crowds celebrating Liverpool's Premier League football title. He has plead not guilty to all of them.

Liverpool Football Club were celebrating winning their second Premier League title when the car drove into crowds.

The ages of the injured range from nine to 78-years-old. They have all since been discharged from hospital.

Recorder of Liverpool Judge Andrew Menary KC told jurors the trial concerned events connected to Doyle’s ‘alleged conduct at the Liverpool FC parade’.

He said: ‘The incident, as you may already be aware from general public knowledge, occurred in a busy city centre setting and has been the subject of public attention.

‘For that reason it is especially important each of you keep strictly to the rules I am about to outline to you.’

Seven men and five women were sworn in as jurors, as well as two women who will serve as extra jurors and sit through the opening in case of difficulties.
