MAGA-aligned Indiana Governor Mike Braun responded to the Indiana State Senate yesterday rejecting (19-31) President Trump’s push for a redistricted congressional map designed to give Republicans extra seats in the House.
Braun wrote on social media: “I am very disappointed that a small group of misguided State Senators have partnered with Democrats to reject this opportunity to protect Hoosiers with fair maps and to reject the leadership of President Trump. Ultimately, decisions like this carry political consequences. I will be working with the President to challenge these people who do not represent the best interests of Hoosiers.”
[Note: The majority of Republican State Senators — 21 out of 40 — voted against the bill, not “a small group.”]
Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom, who responded to Texas Governor Greg Abbott‘s redrawn congressional map by getting approval from voters to redraw California’s congressional maps, mocked Braun and wrote: “Your knee pads are in the mail. Xoxo.”
Newsom has been drawing attention mocking President Trump on social media and imitating the merch-pitching President by selling various (fictitious) items including “knee pads” for those who agree with everything Trump says.
