Man, 63, charged with fatally shooting his sister in Auburn Gresham, police report says

A man faces murder charges after an argument apparently led him to fatally shoot his older sister Wednesday afternoon in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood, according to a Chicago police report.

Randy Washington, 63, was arguing with Dorothy Washington, his 70-year-old sister, inside a residence in the 1900 block of West 83rd Street at 3:18 p.m., when he allegedly shot her in the chest, according to a police report obtained by the Sun-Times.

Washington, who was arrested at the scene, was charged with one felony count of first-degree murder and is scheduled to appear in court Friday.

A sibling of the two was on the scene and spoke to police, the report said.

Dorothy Washington was pronounced dead at 3:25 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
